Today just felt fancy, and I adore it. I like being able to pair an Elizabethan ruff with a wooden African medallion and I’d do it over in a heartbeat.
The first week of class, I dress a bit more conservatively, for contrast. Today, however, saw some light blue pants, a matching bowtie, and a septum ring, for balance.
I gave a book talk! It was very fun. This seemed an appropriate outfit to wear for it. Note the Africa brooch. As you can see, I am incapable of a normal face, however.
Never underestimate some casual office goth looks, combined with an Elizabethan ruff. Fewer accessories today, just to mix it up.
Rarely do I break out old fashioned suspender pants any more as I’ve lost too much weight and haven’t had them taken in, but they paired well with monkstraps, the bowler, and this gear necklace. The look can get dangerously clown-like if I’m not careful.
I really, really liked the ‘clean’ look of this outfit. The lines felt fucking phenomenal.
I was grumpy and exhausted and wanted to look CUTE. So I did. I love this vintage tuxedo jacket so much.
